product description

This collection includes:

1) Macabre Stories

“There be those who say that things and places have souls, and there be those who say they have not; I dare not say, myself, but I will tell of The Street.” Macabre Stories by Howard Phillips Lovecraft published in 2017, present the beginning of Lovecraft’s career as a fiction and horror writer and demonstrate how he developed into an iconic and well-known American author of horror, fantasy and science fiction. The book contains several chapters with explosive titles, such as The Tomb, Dagon, Memory, The Temple, The Picture in the House, etc. It is evocative and shows a real progression of Lovecraft’s style. This collection of stories is horrifying yet full of antiquity. The tales range from fantasy stories inspired by Lord Dunsany to the some within the Gothic horror genre.

2) The Call of Cthulhu and Other Stories

The Call of Cthulhu and Other Stories brings together eleven unearthly tales by H.P. Lovecraft. Rationality is called into question as Lovecraft pens stories which defy laws of nature and create frightening images of the unknown and the unthinkable. Find out what nameless, formless creatures lurk in the cellars of mansions and what dark histories reside in dilapidated haunted houses. Grisly creatures wreak havoc as thunder strikes, dead bodies come alive, human-shaped vapours rise from chimneys and odd deaths befall adventurers and explorers who dare to meet the devil. Lovecraft’s stories inspire awe and fear as readers are forced—through his powerful narrative—to temporarily suspend logic and embrace the uncanny.

3) The Dunwich Horror and Other Stories

This book, by H.P. Lovecraft, takes you into the deep, dark world of horror. Wilbur Whately is born in Dunwich, a degraded, strangely-populated backwater. The boy, of strange parents, develops at a startling rate, but his arrival is only a precursor to the main horror: one of the Old Ones. In The Haunter of the Dark, young Robert Blake is fascinated by a large abandoned church, with a sinister past. The locals believe it be haunted by an ancient evil. The Whisperer in Darkness is the story of Albert Wilmarth, who becomes embroiled in a debate about the veracity and significance of strange objects reported floating in rivers during a historic flood. The Shadow out of Time is Lovecraft’s last major story.

4) At the Mountains of Madness and Other Stories

At the Mountains of Madness is the purposefully presented and progressively terrifying account of an Antarctic expedition’s strange discoveries and encounter with an unknown threat in the ruins of a long-gone civilization. The Shadow over Innsmouth is the story of a college student touring New England’s historic sites. He passes via the rundown harbour of Innsmouth, where he makes unsettling and intimate discoveries. In The Thing at the Doorstep, Daniel Upton starts out by confessing that he killed his best friend, Edward Derby, and that he is hoping that his account would prove that he is not a murderer.

5) Stories of the Dreamlands

This collection of novellas written between 1918 and 1932 by H.P. Lovecraft focuses on a vast alternate dimension where one can enter only in one’s dreams. The Dreamlands are like no other realm and fill the mind with fantasy and fear in equal measures. Haunting tales and macabre abound in the ancient and dark rituals described by the master storyteller, whose description blurs the line between nightmares and reality. His storytelling and vivid life like descriptions of the dark world continues to inspire horror writers until today.

6) The Randolph Carter

Tales The Randolph Carter Tales by H. P. Lovecraft firmly established him as an iconic writer of horror, fantasy and science fiction. The book contains all of Lovecraft’s stories about Randolph Carter. Carter is a quiet dreamer, prone to fainting when stressed. However, he demonstrates the moral strength to confront horrifying monsters of the Dreamlands. This book contains five stories that will take you into desolate and dark situations with the protagonist.
