Dinosaur Police

Little boys love the POLICE! But there are hardly any picture books out there covering this topic – you can pretty much only find non-fiction titles. 3-6 year old boys play cops and robbers almost on a daily basis and are fascinated by the subject matter. Every boy’s toybox contains several police cars, but if you try to find them a police picture book you hit a brick wall. Sarah McIntyre would cover this subject matter with heaps of humour and would be able to keep things light-hearted. We’d leave out guns and jail, but there might be an exciting car chase involving a police car and a robber’s get-away car. The police officers would be dinosaurs – another sure-fire favourite – with different personalities, body shapes and uniforms from around the world, which would address the ‘international’ challenge. Imagine a Stegosaurus sheriff, a Brontosaurus bobby, T. rex in a swanky Italian police uniform. I’m proposing Sarah to write this in order to get the best out of her (as per There’s a Shark in the Bath).
